Swiss Army Man (2016) Review
Swiss Army Man is the 2016 comedy-drama directed and written by Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan, starring Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe.
The Plot
Swiss Army Man is about a guy named Hank Thompson (Paul Dano) who's stranded on an island about to commit suicide, but finds a corpse lying in front of him named Manny (Daniel Radcliffe). Hank then develop a deep, personal relationship with the corpse as he finds his way back home.
The Positives
I found this film to be enjoyably entertaining. The chemistry between Hank and Manny was great. I highly appreciate how original and different this movie is. It's very hard to describe this film when you're trying to compare it to something else. The performances between Daniel Radcliffe and Paul Dano were excellent.
The Negatives
My biggest problem with the film is that it's a bit too short. I think the ending was a bit rushed.
Conclusion
Overall, this is a very enjoyable film that is something that is actually fresh and new instead of the same rehashed franchises that we've been getting. Though some may find that this film is too childish and weird, but I happen to find some entertainment and artistic value out of this film.
Score: B+
