Jurassic World (2015) Review
Jurrasic World Review
Jurassic World is an Action/Adventure/Science-Fiction film directed by Colin Trevorrow. It stars the one and only Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Ty Simpkins. The movie is set twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, and they have this huge dinosaur theme park again called, obviously, Jurassic world. After 10 years of operation, visitor rates are slowly declining, so they decide to make a new dinosaur to excite the visitors some more, which backfires terribly.
I didn't really expect this movie to be great, but I didn't expect this movie to this good. I was hearing about the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and I.M.D.B and it didn't make me disappointed. It just made me lower my expectations. I was still wanted to go see the movie, but I just didn't expect a whole lot ever since I saw the reviews. And this movie was interesting. Something interesting went down when I saw this movie. I'll talk about that at the end. So, about the movie, it was really good in my opinion.
Good Things About the Movie
1. The Movie is beautifully well-directed. The cinematography is excellent. I was caught in the atmosphere of Jurassic World, especially in the First Act where they first go to Jurassic World. They gave viewers a nostalgic feeling, as the music played the Jurassic theme music. The CGI is flawless.
2. Chris Pratt is awesome. The man is an awesome actor. He wowed us with Guardians of the Galaxy and it was no surprise that he did amazing in this movie. I'm pretty sure that the director was aware that moviegoers would be excited for Chris Pratt because, during the movie, he kind of acts like the hero of the whole situation because, everything terrifying that happens doesn't happen to him. But, that doesn't mean the other actors weren't good. Everyone was good, probably except the dude who plays the teenager, but he didn't do bad either.
3. The movie does a good job in suspense and action. I like how they set the suspense up, especially the dinosaur that gets out because the characters aren't aware of how intelligent the dinosaur is. The movie does a good job in shooting action sequences.
Bad Things About the Movie
1. I noticed how the writing was wonky in some places. I didn't like how they tried to introduce this sub-plot that didn't make sense and kind of seemed out of place. I don't want to spoil what that sub-plot is, but it just didn't feel right with the movie. There were other parts didn't seem right, but the overall screenplay was good.
Verdict & Conclusion
Overall, this movie was great in my opinion. I don't know why Rotten Tomatoes initially gave it a 67%, as a mediocre movie. This isn't a mediocre movie. But, in my opinion, I think this movie deserves a bit more than a 67%. The writing/script may be off, but that doesn't deter me from the overall enjoyment of the movie.
Score: 8.2/10
I think people will have fun with this movie. Okay, now, about the thing I was talking about.
What Happened?
Okay, this had nothing to do with the movie. So, we were in the middle of the movie right. But, all of a sudden, the alarm went off. So, they demanded us to leave the theater and we waited to see what was going on. The Fire Department came and we just waited. I don't know what caused the alarm if somebody accidentally/purposefully pulled the fire alarm or burnt popcorn or whatever. We were able to finish the movie, and we got a ticket to go see any movie in the future for free. So, that means we will be able to see Inside Out when it comes out for free, which is sweet.
