Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation (2015)

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation is a 2015 spy action film written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie (director of Jack Reacher). It is the fifth installment in the series. It stars the one and only Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Rebecca Ferguson.

Plot

Rogue Nation is about Ethan Hunt trying to prove the existence about this international terrorist organization called The Syndicate, which is basically an anti-I.M.F that consists of presumably dead or missing operatives of the I.M.F, after Hunt is convinced of its existence. Now his mission is to prove the existence of The Syndicate and bring them down, but with the help of Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg), William Brandt (Jeremy Renner), Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), and Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) who is an English double-agent working for the Syndicate.

Thoughts

I've got to say. THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME! Probably even better than Ant-Man and that movie was good. I forgot to give that movie a review because I didn't feel like it. This movie was astonishing. I personally think it's a tad bit better than Ghost Protocol. This movie basically takes the formula of Ghost Protocol and takes it further. I'll start with the cons and then end with the pros.

Cons

1. The villain was still kind of lame. To be fair, the entire series has had its fair share of having uninteresting villains. At least this villain was better than Ghost Protocol which is why I said this movie is only a tad bit better than Ghost Protocol because the villain in that movie was probably one of the weakest one. The strongest villain in the series is still Owen Davian played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Even though the villain was better than Ghost Protocol, it's still a weak villain. Plus, I couldn't understand his motives and his goal. They were kind of unclear to me. Maybe, that's my fault. I'm not going to heavily penalize it for that reason.

Other than that, not much else that I saw negative with the film other than little nitpicks. Like, why couldn't they just kill Ethan Hunt when he was captured? Small things like that. Now, let's get to the good stuff.

Pros

1. The movie is EXCELLENTLY WELL-DIRECTED. The action is shot really well.

2. The action scenes are beautiful and really tense. Even though they didn't live up to the Burj Khalifa scene in my opinion, they still hold up on their own, especially the Motorcycle chase scene. That scene was SPECTACULAR. Tom Cruise has done it again.

3. Rebecca Furguson was one of the best parts of this movie. She played her part incredibly well. If James Bond was a woman, it would be this chick. It's probably one of the strongest female roles I've seen. I'm serious dude. Her role is a strong representation of feminity and capable women dude. If we mention about strong female characters, we should remember this chick dude.

Conclusion

I've had a really good time with this movie. It was a blast. And I mean it when I said this movie is better than Ant-Man. I was serious. This movie is a MUST-SEE. Hands down-the best flick of this summer.

Score: 9.2/10
